Hannibal Rising

Instead of listening to the radio in the car on my various commutes, I check out audio books from the library and listen to those. I'm on Thomas Harris's Hannibal Rising right now.
It's narrated by the author, and Thomas Harris sounds very much like George W. Bush.
Now, if you're familiar with Hannibal Lecter, you know he's an intelligent, articulate, and profound character. While George W. Bush shares many traits with Hannibal Lecter, intelligence isn't one of them.

When I began listening to the audio book, I was thrown off guard by what sounded like Bush reading a book. Then we got to the dialogue and it sounds like George Bush doing an imitation of Hannibal Lecter; it's weirdly funny.
It took a few chapters to get used to that, but with Hanibal Lecter being Hannibal Lecter, it's an excellent book so far. I didn't know until today that there's a movie for the book. I'll have to put that on the Netflix queue.
