It's All Smelley's Fault
Oh, Smelley lost the game for Soccer Liner, Clemson had nothing to do with it.
Wait a minute, I seem to remember three of Soccer Liner's best defenders absolutely whiff on CJ Spiller. See if you can spot Eric Norwood, Emmanuel Cook, and Captain Munnerlyn in this clip:

The State Newspaper is Confused Again
November 29, 2008I'm having a good evening, can you tell?
Clemson has never played USC in football, by the way.
Cock 'N Fire
Dabo Swinney has now dispatched two NFL head coaches in a row (Virginia's Al Groh and Soccer Liner's Steve Spurrier), both of whom had two weeks to prepare for Clemson.
In fact, Clemson may have retired another Soccer Liner Legend, as Spurrier and his vaunted defense couldn't even beat Clemson's Wide Receivers coach.

November 27, 2008Game Prediction
November 24, 2008
Let's see... Ricky Sapp is out with a knee injury. Chris Clemmons's injury isn't looking promising, and his backup has been burnt a few times.
Both Clemson and Soccer Liner's offenses have been sad this season. Both teams' defenses have been exceptional, but I have to give the edge to Sakerlina's "D" because they play with an attitude and toughness that I'm sorry to say is a complete stranger to most of Clemson's football team.
My prediction is Sakerlina wins a low-scoring game by two field goals:
Clemson 7
Soccer Liner 13
It Is Time...

I don't have a good feeling about the Sakerlina game. It will probably be ugly either way it goes since both defenses have had outstanding seasons (with a couple of exceptions, of course).

Bud Foster
"I was a nervous wreck going in and I felt good coming out," Foster said. "There's an interest on both parts. I'm one of several potential candidates for the job, and we'll see where it goes. That's all I know and that's all I can say."
According to reports, Foster is the third candidate to interview for the head coaching job that opened when Tommy Bowden resigned Oct. 13. Phillips reportedly met Nov. 7 with former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin, and met with Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables a week ago today.
Foster, 49, who has been a Tech assistant for 22 years, said it was his understanding that Clemson will hire its coach "in the next three weeks probably."
Foster, long considered one of the nation's top defensive gurus, hasn't hidden his desire the past few years that he wants to become a head coach at a BCS-conference program.
Will Muschamp
"I was really excited when they presented the opportunity to me," Muschamp said. "I'm not in any hurry to be a head coach and hope Coach Brown's around for many more years. I'm just glad I'm going to be able to stay at Texas. This is the top program in the country, my family loves it here and there's no better person to watch and learn from about running a football program than Coach Brown.
Spinner
I saw a cool car today:
Something tells me that if you're driving a 1987 Camry with a bungee cord holding the trunk down, then nobody is going to be impressed by your car having one spinner hubcap!
Annual Shopping Trip 2008
November 17, 2008Saturday, we went on our annual Christmas shopping trip to Greenville. I only snapped a couple of pictures with my phone:

Lane Kiffin
November 13, 2008
Former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin interviewed for Clemson’s vacant coaching position last week, a source close to Kiffin confirmed Wednesday.
Last Friday, Kiffin met with Clemson athletics director Terry Don Phillips in Detroit.
Phillips then flew the next morning to attend the Tigers’ 41-27 loss at Florida State.
Kiffin becomes the second known candidate to interview with Phillips, joining Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables, whom Phillips traveled to see Tuesday.
Kiffin, 33, was fired Sept. 30 because of his severed relationship with Raiders owner Al Davis.
