Sky Top Apple Orchard

Corny tourist poseWe visited Sky Top Apple Orchard right across the SC/NC border for the first time yesterday. Neat place.
I definitely recommend going up there to get the fresh apple cider doughnuts, if for no other reason.
On a different note, we all want to wish my mom a swift and comfortable recovery. We love you!
Apple Cider Doughnuts
It's worth the drive just to get some of those fresh apple cider doughnuts. They're the bomb.
Random Picture Friday - Greenwood Places

One of the holes in the fence along Phoenix Street.I've always been interested in these holes. They were clearly made deliberately. I think I remember someone saying Greenwood High School used to play football back there.
I like to imagine a group of people watching a game through these holes 50 or 60 years ago... if that was the intent behind the holes.
Rod's Steak House - Williams, Arizona

Probably the best steak I’ve ever had was a prime rib at Rod’s Steak House in Williams, Arizona. It is about four or five feet right off of Route 66.
I’d like to find a local butcher that sells rib roasts so I can attempt to make some prime rib on my own.

Will and Haden walking in New York
We have a combination Random Picture Friday and Did You Know? today.
When we went to New York last year, we discovered that a lot of areas around midtown pile their trash out on the sidewalks every night where it is picked up by the next morning. I thought that was interesting, and something about NYC you don't see in movies and TV shows.
Yes, we roamed New York at night. We also rode the subway at night.

Mai's Baby Shower
October 10, 2011I had three webcams set up at Mai's baby shower Sunday. They aren't great quality, but I've done this at a couple of gatherings before, and the webcams inevitably capture some of the best moments.
Nobody knew about them. I figured I would catch some people sitting in front of the computer watching the screensaver.

Finishing Touches on the Window Seat

Mel put the finishing touches on our window seat this weekend with fabric from Hobby Lobby. She made the pillows, too. So, I think that completes our sitting room.
