A Bombfell Review – Droppin’ Duds (or not?)
December 1, 2012
A few weeks ago, I signed up for Bombfell, a men’s clothing subscription service.
I almost never buy clothes for myself. About 90% of my wardrobe consists of my old Army clothing and gifts from others. However, those gifts are few and far between. The result is a lot of clothes that are out of style and/or ill-fitting, so this Bombfell thing seems like just what I need.
The idea is to input your measurements, identify your style, set your budget, and optionally provide a photo of yourself to give the stylists a better idea of your body type and skin tone. Then, they’ll send you awesome clothes at no risk or obligation—shipping is free both ways.
The Bombfell staff is eager to please, and your measurements, style, and preferences are thoroughly covered before you receive your clothes. As you can see, you can determine how often you receive certain types of items, and you can set a budget that they will not exceed.
I chose an $89 budget every two months, which fits into my normal clothing budget. That doesn’t mean they’ll use the entire $89 for every shipment, they just won’t spend more than that unless you ask for an exception—they’re very flexible.

I added some photos of myself to increase their chances of picking clothes that looks good on me.
About a week after I enrolled online, I received this email. From here, you can view the details of your item or request a different item.

Here’s my first item. The stylist explains a bit about the designer and what to wear with it.
You can always choose to skip a month or request another item if you’re certain you will not like what the stylists have chosen. They give you about a day to mull it over before they ship it.

If they do not hear from you within a day or so, they’ll go ahead and ship the item.

After you’ve tried on your item, you can give extensive feedback and rate it from one to five bombs.
You may also upload a photo of yourself wearing the selection to get feedback from your stylist.
I'm pleased with this service, I like the shirt, and I'm going to stick with it.
Bethesda Terrace (updated)
October 15, 2012
Mel and the boys at Bethesda Terrace in New York's Central Park.
This is where Adam Sandler and Winona Ryder had their date in Mr. Deeds. This is also where the two guys were looking for Kevin in Home Alone 2.
Off the top of my head, I remember the stairs in scenes from Ransom and Stepmom.

Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake at Bethesda Terrace in Friends With Benefits

They filmed the final scene of The Avengers on top of Bethesda Terrace.

Guy Walks Into an Advertising Agency

American Optical Eyewear has been producing its Original Pilot Sunglasses to the same specifications since 1958, when it began supplying the U.S. military.
I'm a Mad Men fanatic. When I saw Don wearing these things, I had to have them. I ordered mine from Optics Planet so I could get my prescription in them. Two weeks after I ordered them, bam! Here they are.

October 1, 2012The Front Patio is Done!
September 23, 2012So, we're finally done with our patio project. See here for the initial condition of the front of our house.
Our ducks had a habit of pooping on our concrete. I was able to train them to stay away, but the poop stained it, so we decided to cover it with a more appropriate stain.

I cleaned it with this Quickrete cleaner.

I scrubbed it in, but it didn't quite clean it as much as I would have liked, so I went ahead and pressure washed it, too.
Before staining, I taped off squares to create a tiled appearance.
1/2-inch painter's tape is difficult to find, so I just bought some 1-inch rolls and cut them down the middle with box cutters. That was extremely dangerous and tedious, but I've learned that what Momma wants, Momma gets.
Oh my knees and back
Stained and done!
Our concrete is porous, so the stain actually seeped under the tape and didn't give us solid lines for the tiled appearance, so we just stained the whole area. It still looks much better than raw concrete.

We are very pleased with the result!
You can't see them from the front, but we also installed some lanterns on the insides of the posts.

We decorated tree this morning. We lit candles and
played Christmas music while we put up our
decorations. We missed you and wish you were here. We
got the tree half way done when Will and Haden quit on
me and said " this is boring". At that moment I knew I
needed a little girl.

Kent and I just got back home from Alabama at about midnight tonight. We got Kaitlin a 4-wheeler (size 110) and a smaller one (size 50) for the boys to share when they are here. I know they will like them, but I will have some strict rules. We had to take a detour in the mountains of Alabama and ended up getting lost!!! That is the worst place to take a wrong road and pulling a trailer!!! We left the house this morning at 5:00 AM!! We rode 19 hours almost non-stop!!! So I am ready for the bed!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers!!! See ya soon!!! Miss ya!!! I love you!!! Mom
