Washington, D.C.

I'm taking the family to D.C. on Spring Break this April.

I requested tickets to tour the White House and the Capitol through Gresham Barrett's office. However, I'm sure that will just be a formality since the President and I are "like that".

Last Friday, I accidentally left my check card in the ATM. I didn't realize it until today when I was looking at my statement online and saw a $40 withdrawal and a $400 withdrawal that I definitely did not make.

I called the Wachovia Fraud Department, and the money will be refunded to me, but I am responsible for the first $50 that was lost. While I hate that, it's a lot better than $440.

To the punk who chose to steal from me instead of taking the high road, you're on camera and you've been reported. I hope they catch you.

In the interest of keeping my website below PG-13, that's the absolute nicest thing I can say here, but rest assured, there are much saltier wishes for you going through my mind right now...

Men vs. Wild

Yesterday, I took the boys on a 2-hour Men vs. Wild hike through the treacherous wilderness of North Greenwood.

Haden said he would survive on cheetah blood, but I didn't think it was likely we would find one of those near the 72 bypass. So, I brought Beenie Weenies and Ramen noodles.

Here is Haden's Beenie Weenie face:

They were looking inside this dead tree for grubs to eat, but they only found a rollie pollie, which Will ate.



Their favorite part was going under that tunnel near the Self Regional Express Care.



...found a dead raccoon, but they didn't eat it or make a hat out of it...



After two hours in the freezing woods, we were glad to see civilization again:



When we got home Haden ravenously ate two grilled cheese sandwiches Mel had ready for him.
