Large Families Are Not Welcome at Haywood Mall
November 14, 2010We took our annual Christmas shopping trip to Greenville yesterday, and had an interesting encounter with one of their Barney Fife security guards.
It began with Chad taking a picture of me with his phone while I was getting a massage. Barney saw this and let Chad know that photography is not allowed in the Mall, except of children in the Santa area. Pedophiles take note of that, or not, on second thought.
Photography in public places IS PERFECTLY LEGAL. It might be against Mall Policy, but if that's the case, then the worst they can do is ask you to leave. I would have turned my phone toward Barney and took his picture.
Then, Barney told us we were loitering when we were resting from spending hundreds of dollars in that mall. Barney said groups of more than five are not allowed, and apparently there's no discretion to be had in enforcing the rules.
I guess if you have four kids, you're out of luck if you want to shop at Haywood Mall.
Barney followed us and stared at us the rest of our time in the mall, like we're criminals or something.
Idiot.
