Random Picture Friday - Whoa. What Happened?

During most of our West Coast road trip in 2008, the boys were unimpressed with what I thought was a glorious experience -- being out on the open road, heading out West.

Road Trips, I think, are way underrated.

The boys, however, were more interested in video games in the back seat. Driving through the bayou of Louisiana, me saying, "Hey boys! There are dead alligators in the road!" (true, by the way) resulted in barely more than a "mmm hmm".

"Hey boys, we're on Route 66!"

"mmm hmm"

Well, when we arrived at the Grand Canyon, they huffed about having to get out of the car and interrupt their video game time. As we were walking up to the edge of the canyon, it sort of opened up and presented itself in all its glory.

I was happy to hear this: Will said, "Whoa! What happened?!" I was also happy to have an invitation to tell him what happened.








This type of thing is right up my alley



To give some perspective on how deep this is, those little green dots down there are bushes.
