We Are the Champions

The other week, Mel and I braved the cold and drove to Laurens to watch Haden's football team beat Abbeville to win the 7 & under Greenwood Parks & Rec. league championship!

The game went into overtime, and during the coin toss after regulation, some kids were playing near some buttons. Well, those buttons happened to control every light on the field.

The kids pushed the buttons and put us in near total darkness. It took 15 minutes for the stadium lights to heat back up and come on.

In OT, Haden's team got the ball first, made the touchdown and ran in the extra point (they don't do field goals). Then Abbeville got the TD and fumbled the snap on the extra point. Their QB was sacked and GAME OVER.

Some of the Abbeville folks were talking smack, and Greenwood was giving it right back to 'em.
